Entry

To apply for the BSc Dental Nursing programme, you must have:

• SCQF Level 6/NC Dental Nursing (or Equivalent)
• 2 Highers level C and above.
• Non - standard entry may be considered if deemed appropriate at the discretion of the department on completion of a skill test

Please note:

• Participation at an information session, skills assessment and interview forms part of the selection criteria.
• Access on to this course will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check in the form of an Enhanced PVG.
• A financial payment of £50 will be made by each student as a contribution towards PVGs, uniform and health clearance checks (this can be made in instalments or a one-off payment)

Full time: 4 days-2 days per week campus attendance and 2 days per week in placement.

You will develop knowledge and skills as you undertake the following modules:

• Clinical Dental Skills
• Maintaining the Dentition
• Oral Health Assessment
• Oral Imaging Supported by Radiography
• Supporting Non-routine Dental Treatments
• ASPIRE: Foundations for Success

Supervised clinical placement will continue to develop practical experience in a dental practice setting.
