Social Bite co-founder Josh Littlejohn made New College Lanarkshire Fellow
19 March 2026Josh Littlejohn MBE was awarded a Fellowship at a ceremony in Motherwell Campus earlier today for his services to social enterprise and charity.
New College Lanarkshire (NCL) today awarded a prestigious Fellowship to Josh Littlejohn MBE, co-founder of Social Bite, in recognition of his outstanding and transformative contribution to social enterprise and charity.
Staff, students and friends of the College were present at the ceremony on the College’s Motherwell Campus today.
The Fellowship was bestowed in recognition of Littlejohn’s work tackling homelessness across Scotland and beyond. Through Social Bite, he and his co-founder created a chain of cafes that provide employment, food, and dignity to people who have experienced homelessness.
The social entrepreneur said it was ‘an amazing honour on an amazing day’.
He said: “I am very proud to be associated with New College Lanarkshire, from my first visit I was so impressed with the ethos of social justice that is at the heart of everything here.
“I and Social Bite look forward to working with the students and exploring co-creating social enterprises here on campus."
Professor Christopher Moore, Principal and Chief Executive of New College Lanarkshire said ‘it was a privilege for us to welcome Josh Littlejohn to New College Lanarkshire today as he became our newest Fellow’.
He went on: “The ambition of Social Bite to change the destiny of homeless people across Scotland is truly inspirational, as we see in the Rutherglen Social Bite Village currently being constructed here in Lanarkshire.
“Josh’s endless commitment to helping those in our society with the least by making practical, meaningful changes finds its echo in the work our staff and students do every day.
“The ceremony today was a rousing and moving reminder of the need to create a sustainable future for all.”
