New College Lanarkshire launches free course on Erectile Dysfunction
New online module, available on The Learning Well, announced at the NCL Men’s Health Symposium.
People are spending around seven fewer years in good health than the Scottish average.
New College Lanarkshire refuses to accept that.
On 2 June, NCL hosted their inaugural Women's Health Symposium. On 3 June, the Men's Health Symposium followed. Both marked the launch of Better Than 52.
Women's Health and Wellbeing Across the Lifespan (SCQF Level 5) introduces how biology, social context, and structural inequalities shape women's health outcomes, offering practical guidance for improving health.
Men's Health: Erectile Dysfunction (SCQF Level 5) reframes erectile dysfunction not as embarrassment, but as a clinical and psychological indicator of wider health conditions, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and mental wellbeing, while building communication skills for health and care professionals.
Both courses are free to access via The Learning Well and require no prior qualifications.
As Christopher Moore, Chief Executive of New College Lanarkshire, said: "A healthy life expectancy in North Lanarkshire of 52 years is not what any of us want or can accept. We know that education leads to healthier lives. Our Better Than 52 programme is the bold, focused and determined way in which we will rise to this crucial challenge."
This is just the beginning.
